Beyond the Classroom
Fit Facts
There are many things that you can do with your student in order to promote a healthy, active lifestyle. Consider yourself a role model for your student and stress the importance of physical activity and healthy eating. Provide your student with the opportunity to experience physical activity within an outdoor setting, such as taking a hike or promoting life-long fitness activities such as walking or playing golf. Whether you join a competitive sport team, go to the park, play interactive video-games, or take a daily bike ride together, there are always physical activity opportunities for your student indoors and out.
Here are some physical activities you can do with your child:
• Play frisbee
• Walk a pet
• Join a recreational team
• Go on a hike
• Play at the park
• Join a competitive team
